The Typhlological Museum is a specialized museum that collects, stores, researches, documents and communicates tangible and non-tangible materials related to people with special needs. The Museum is a place in which people with disabilities can participate actively in its activities, and a place which simultaneously enables the social community to become familiar with the lives of disabled persons.

Accessible and inclusive programs

Program Let’s decorate the museum – making paper Christmas trees decorated with buttons is aimed for adults with intellectual disabilities. At the workshop, the participants are making their own decoration for Christmas tree, which are at the end exhibited in the Museum.

Program Dash, dash, dash is developed for socially vulnerable groups (persons suffering from stroke). After the participants choose a museum exhibit (which are introduced tactilely, visually, smelling, and verbally), the object is tactilely drawn and reinterpreted. It is drawn with the help of three-dimensional didactic material, the puzzle Dot, line, drawing, and it consists of magnetic points, lines (straight, curved) of different lengths and widths.

Antique Glass workshop was designed for blind children. The aim was to encourage the artistic creativity in visually impaired students and teach them about the importance of preservation of nature.
