Accessible and inclusive programs
Accessible and inclusive programs: A Touch of History! is a tour of the museum designed for vision impaired visitors. Apart from standard signalisation in Braille and large lettering of selected tactile exhibits and the existence of relevant museum guides in both formats, the museum offers a comprehensible “touch tour”, offered by trained staff. Vision impaired visitors are guided through the museum, accompanied by a trolley containing tactile exhibits (both originals and copies), used wherever permanent exhibition items are behind showcases, and providing the possibility of a full guided experience.
Additional information: A Touch of History! was produced by the National Historical Museum with the collaboration of the Lighthouse for the Blind, and financed by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation through Cultural Heritage Without Borders Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Balkan Museum Network.
