The War Childhood Museum in Sarajevo is the world’s largest archive dedicated to the experience of growing up during the war. The Museum documents, digitizes and presents various artefacts and testimonies related to growing up in the war in order to educate a broad audience about this experience.

  • Audio guide in English and Bosnian
  • For group visits the Museum organises sign language interpereters. This service needs to be organised in advance (per email or phone).

Accessible and inclusive programes

  • The Museum has organised guided visits and workshops for children with hearing and sight disabilities/impairments. In 2021 the Museums was visited several times by the Center for blind and partially blind children and youth from Sarajevo as well as by NGOs and the Center for hearing and speech rehabilitation from Sarajevo. The visits were guided by museums educators and sign language interpreters.
  • The Museum offers guided visits and workshops for children with hearing and sight disabilities/impairments. The visits and workshops are organised upon a request.
